Jumping my YZF426

Race Pictures | Rules | 2002 Standings

The race consists of a 3-5 mile loop of natural terrain on 160 acres of land. The course varies technically from race to race. Some races will have water crossings, some will be tight and tough, some will be fast and wide sweeping. Only two things will be consistent: (1)there will be no trees to hit and (2)we race in the rain, snow or 100 degree dust storms. We do not, however, race when lightning is present.

The race is two hours plus one lap. The overall race leader's position determines when the last lap starts. ATV's, mini's and the beginner class only race one hour plus one lap. It is possible not to get the white flag if you are passed by the leader on his white flag lap.

The course is marked with arrows printed on orange markers. A single marker turned at an angle signifies a turn. The marker is always on the inside of the turn and you must pass around it. Two markers pointing straight up signifies a gate. If you knock over a marker you must replace it. If you miss a marker or pass on the wrong side you must go back and do it properly. Failure to do either of these will dock one lap from your total. Most races consist of 9-14 laps.

The start is a dead engine start. You must straddle your front fender, facing your bike. The classes will start in rows. The first digit in your number is the row in which you start with mini's starting in the last row. During the race there will be one check point. You must come to a complete stop and yell your number. A flagger will let you know when to leave again. The race is computer scored so all bikes need numbers on all three number plates.

There is a parade lap before the race which is one slow lap to be used to determine the track location and obstacles. No one is allowed to pass the leader. No one is allowed on the track before the parade lap. Absolutely no riding before the parade lap or after the race.

Riders are responsible for the condition of their motorcycles or ATV, for determining the safety of the course, and to assess their own abilities, and for the condition of their protective apparel which includes helmets, boots, gloves, etc.

Trophies will be given for 1st - 5th place. There is also a $500. year end points fund for the top three riders. There are also year end awards for the class winners. You must race four of the six races to be eligible for year end awards. If you change classes, one-half of your points will transfer to the new class. Beginner class racers may ride any bike. This is a non-points class with no year end awards. If a rider wins two times he must move to another class. 'A' class will pay back 100% of each race with $2.00 per rider going for a year end cash payback.

Our main purpose is to have fun and ride safe. If you want to help design a course, set-up time is always the Saturday before the race beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the track. Everyone is welcome.

The gate will open at 10:00 a.m. Sign-up is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The rider's meeting is at 11:45 a.m. and the parade lap at noon. The race starts 5 minutes after the parade lap. The gate fee is $5.00 with those 10 years old and under free. Sign-up is $20.00 for all B classes and $30.00 for A classes. You may purchase numbers at the track for $0.50 each.
