Firefox Web Browser

Mozilla Firefox is a fast, full-featured browser for Windows that makes browsing more efficient than ever before. Firefox includes pop-up blocking; a tab-browsing mode that lets you open several pages in a single window; integrated Google searching; simplified privacy controls that let you cover your tracks more effectively; a streamlined browser window that shows you more of the page than any other browser; and a number of additional features that work with you to help you get the most out of your time online.
I had to see what all the hype is about Firefox, so I downloaded it and gave it a test drive. Well, I'm here to tell you it beats Internet Explorer hands down, so I decided to make the switch. To download your version of Firefox today, just click on one of the buttons at the top or bottom of my web page.
Firefox comes as a "slim" browser, it's not "bloated" like IE. Although there are MANY add-on feature called "extensions" to bring the browser up to speed. You only have to download the extensions that you want and will use.
Here is the list of extensions I installed with my Firefox.
- AdBlock
- Right click and remove unwanted, spinning, flashing, rotating ads.
- Image Zoom
- Right click an image to select preset or custom zoom sizes. Convenient when you need to see an image in detail.
- FoxyTunes
- Builds audio controls on the bottom of your browser. This way you don't have to switch back and forth to your audio player.
- Web Developer
- Nice tool if you are a web page developer or just like to look under the hood of web pages. It adds a menu and toolbar that lets you manage images, cookies, CSS, display sizes and other things.
- GoogleBar
- The googlebar is a Firefox version of Google's own toolbar. This is great so surfing and blocking pop-up ads.
- WeatherFox
- It shows the weather forecast, from weather.com, for any city. It then displays the information on the bottom of your toolbar.
- IE View
- Right click any page from within Firefox and have to option to view it in Internet Explorer. This is good for those of you who do not want to completely ditch IE.
- Dictionary Search
- Looks up any selected word in an online dictionary (very useful).
- Tab Browser Preferences
- Enables enhanced control for the tab browsing.
